On October 22, 2025, the Seagull Solar Car team met at McKee High School to work on the car and to organize some logistics. There, we tackled crucial modifications to our solar car’s chassis and planned our upcoming Saturday fundraising event at Flagship Brewery.

The day’s agenda centered on advancing our car’s front-end design. We carefully cut and removed the bottom portion of the front chassis — not just to take things apart, but to create space for critical improvements that will enhance our car’s performance. With the front section removed, we turned our attention to one of the most important components of any vehicle: the suspension system.

Our team engaged in detailed discussions about where to position the two front wheel suspensions. We explored a design where the two control arms would wrap around the top bar of the chassis to narrow the track width of the wheels. This configuration needs to be precisely positioned for both performance and safety, while considering factors like weight distribution, handling characteristics, and the overall aerodynamic profile of our solar car. We also planned for the attachment and mounting of shock absorbers, and discussed replacing the front section with new pipes featuring a rectangular cross-section for improved structural integrity.
Beyond the technical work, we dedicated time to organizing our Saturday fundraising event at Flagship Brewery from 10 AM to 6 PM. Our Saturday agenda includes serving food, selling raffle tickets to help fund our team’s transportation costs, and fixing up the trailer.

We also began coordinating our summer travel plans, including Airbnb accommodations and hotel stays scheduled for July 19-26. We’re also exploring camping options to make the most of our time on the road.
Every meeting brings us closer to our goal of building a competitive, efficient solar-powered vehicle. We look forward to seeing everyone at Flagship Brewery this Saturday!
