Solar Car Challenge 2016
July 13, 2016 - July 23, 2016 The Solar Car/Green Tech Team took 5th place in the Nationwide competition which stared Sunday July 13th in Dallas Texas and ended Saturday July 23rd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For July 2017 the team will be competing on the Texas Motor Speedway, on the track against 41 other teams from different states. We are now open to all high schools to join our (STEM) project car.
Our team just completed is competition at the Texas Motor Speedway this past week (July 15-23, 2017. We are happy to say we place 3rd place in the country and did bring home a trophy for New York City. The team and I are looking forward to next year and the possibility of building a new Solar Car.
The weekend of September 16-17th our Solar Car will be displayed at the Worlds Fair Nano in the Brooklyn Expo on Noble st, we are among many Stem and futuristic displays that weekend hope to see our friends and supporters.
The Solar Car will be displayed at Staten Island Technical High Schools open house on October 3rd fro 4 pm to 7 pm.
On October 14th the Red Bank school district in Red Bank New Jersey will host a Maker-fest show which the Solar Car will be shown.
The Green Technology Club was invited to Middlesex County, New Jersey school district on Saturday March 10th to help New Jersey will attempt to make a Solar Car Team to compete in the Solar Car Challenge.
Today June 6th we displayed our Solar Car at The United Nations Green Fair, fantastic day for the team.
The team is proud to say that we completed in the 2018 Solar Car Challenge Competition from Dallas,Texas to Palm-Dale ,California this July 13th to July 23rd, this cross country race was a huge challenge and our team took 2nd place in the largest high school race. Once again we were the only high school in this race who represented New York City. Our future plans is to build another car and continue to compete with the hope of going to the World Solar Car Challenge October 2019.
